Welcome to
our stud. We started breeding
miniatures in 1993 with two mares and one stallion,
but, as a lot of you will know, having these “little people” around
becomes addictive, and, before we knew what was happening we had acquired
quite a following of them.
Our original stallion was Tyrospot Patch, bred by L
Stenning Esq. Patch was a
blanket spotted miniature horse whose children, grand children and great
grand children can be found worldwide. Our grateful thanks go to Mrs Tikki
Adorian of Toyhorse International for allowing us to purchase him all
those years ago.
Our second
stallion was Romany Kajun, a piebald miniature Shetland, bred by R Hughes
Esq. His sire was the world
famous Romany Paco, and 'Buzz' proved a great asset, stamping his
stock with good conformation, temperament and colouring.
***********************
Sadly we lost both Patch and
Buzz in 2005, we feel honoured to have shared in their lives. Some
animals pass through our lives, others leave footprints on our hearts.
*********************** In
July 2004 we purchased Falabella Anselmo and ran him with the majority of
our mares in 2005. You can see the results in our 2006 foals
section. We may also consider offering Anselmo at stud to a few
selected mares, so if you would like the chance to use a pure Falabella
stallion from the Falabella stud in Argentina, please contact us. *************************
Due to our hectically busy family life, we rarely
get the time to attend any shows. So in 2006 we made the decision to send
several of our youngsters to the Shadel Stud near Andover for training,
showing and hopefully to find good homes for those who were for sale. This
"project" proved a resounding success, with three of the
youngsters finding a new home together, and a large number of beautiful
rosettes to adorn the walls at home. Our
grateful thanks to Sharon and Derek at Shadel for their time, expertise
and help. So grateful are we, that we sent them another batch of
youngsters at the beginning of 2007 ! Please refer to our
"Showing News" page for photos and updates.
*********************** In
late 2006 we made the long journey from East Sussex to our new home in the
Brechfa Forest, Carmarthenshire, Wales. You will find the pictures showing
our new farm in this very beautiful area on our "Wales" page. (
Follow the link via "On The Farm" ) Thank you for
visiting our website, please browse through our photos and meet some of
the mini’s and other animals that make up our family at Ancaster.
